WVYS Social Media Intern
The WVYS Social Media Intern (SMI) will regularly update the following social media sites as well as others if more are added in the future:
Facebook
Instagram
Twitter
Snapchat
These sites are "owned" by the WVYS and most use the wvys.web@gmail.com address. Content must be professional, meaning that there shall be no offensive images or words posted. The SMI understands that these sites are public and reflect on our organization. Because these sites are open to the public, anyone may "follow" the WVYS through them. These sites shall not follow others, but simply be a place where others may follow the happenings of the WYVS. The SMI will be mindful when posting any personal information about students and will check with Web Services prior to posting such items.
The purpose of having WVYS social media sites
1. To promote the activities of the WVYS
2. To inform the public about WVYS events
3. To remind WVYS members about events
The duties of the WVYS Social Media Intern are as follows:
1. Post on each site at least bi-weekly.
2. Post on each site at least one week prior to each concert.
3. Use good judgment when posting. These are public sites.
4. Research as necessary the best practices in the use of these sites as they change and keep Web Services appraised.
5. Communicate with Web Services as needed.
WVYS Web Services will give such access to the SMI that will allow the him/her to accomplish these duties.
The SMI will report to WVYS Web Services; currently Carol Letcher and Anne Kostraba. The email address for Web Services is wvys.web@gmail.com.
This position is for one season and may be transferred to another student if:
1. it is believed that the current SMI is not posting in a proper manner.
2. the current SMI decides that they would like to pass the duty on to someone else.
If the position is passed to another student, the board will decide who will continue as SMI.
Compensation:
The SMI will be compensated for their work for an amount to be determined by the board for one season.
How to become a WVYS Social Media Intern:
The WVYS Board of Directors, with the recommendation of Web Services, will decide on an intern after reading through the online applications.
